Japan is well known for having clean streets, walkways and parks. I decided to test this. Over a period of twelve days, I set out to find one or more discarded items per day. It was not easy, there was not a lot to find. On a few days I had to resort to picking up natural items, such as a feather or a bug’s exoskeleton. What I found is displayed below, each day a separate art piece. On several, for display purposes only, I added my own touch of sumi ink and on another, a handful of dirt. Japan’s clean streets reputation is well deserved.
